How it works

Words is audio flashcards with spaced repetition. Every phrase has two cards: What does this mean? trains your ear, How do you say…? trains your mouth. Each card comes back just before you'd forget it. Rate it Again, Good or Easy; Auto hides the buttons, marks everything OK and keeps going. I know this skips a phrase for a week.

Talk is a Pimsleur-style lesson for each unit, about 20–30 minutes, no buttons needed:

  1. Opening conversation between Niwat and Premwadee at natural speed. Just listen.
  2. Breakdown and reverse building. Each line is explained and built from its last piece backwards, so the rhythm and tones come out right.
  3. Anticipation. You're asked to say a line or its meaning before you hear the answer. Use the pause.
  4. Graduated recall. Lines come back at growing intervals through the lesson, and a few from the previous lesson return at the start of the next.
  5. Closing conversation at natural speed. Notice how much more you catch.

Learning Thai fast

  • Always out loud. Whispering or thinking the answer doesn't build the mouth memory you'll need.
  • Copy the tone exactly, even exaggerate it. A wrong tone is a different word.
  • Ears before mouth. Understanding comes first; that's why the meaning card comes before the speaking card.
  • 15 minutes every day beats 2 hours on Sunday. Keep the streak.
  • Use it immediately. Say today's phrases to a Thai person, a friend, or yourself in the mirror.
